5 Design Trends We’re Loving in 2023
Color
We are in LOVE with the 2023 color palettes. This year we will continue to see a rise in color pops, which we’re ecstatic about! Bye-bye, boring neutrals. Some of our go-to’s are jeweled tones, greens, blues, and earthy hues. Don’t be afraid to pop a fun color on an accent wall or even go for a painted ceiling.
Feeling extra bold? Break out the wallpaper. This is a great non-permanent pazazz you can add to a space. Side note: we’ve got a home renovation reveal coming soon and we went wild with wallpaper! We can’t wait to show you!
The beauty of designing is that color expression isn’t just limited to paint colors and wallpaper. We love adding in decor accents throughout the home like rugs, pillows, and art to give us that cozy lived-in feeling.
2. Nostalgia
In addition to color, 2023 will be taking us back in time. Say hello to some blasts from the past! One of my favorite ways to make a space feel safe and relaxing is to throw in some good old-fashioned nostalgia. Lucky for us there are tons of the ’60s and 70’s inspired furniture, colors, and textures coming into play for 2023. While trends like this might be short-lived, you can find so many of these styles for a steal at vintage thrift stores and warehouses in your area.
Want to take a step into the past with a lower commitment level? Go for a fun vintage wallpaper accent to quickly add some unique character to your room.
3. Statement Lighting
Want to be a little extra? Us too. And we’ve got good news, 2023 will be the year to use lighting as the star of the show.
Get a little ballsy and go for the handcrafted chandeliers! Don’t be afraid to mix and match different lighting styles together. These eclectic pops are what set the tone for your room.
4. Retreat Spaces
These have been on the rise over the past two years and we are happy to say they are here to stay. We’re all so thankful to be out and about after the pandemic, but one element we found value in during covid was the need for solitude spaces within our homes. It might be that you’re an empty nester with additional space and finally want to create that reading room or you’re a mom wanting to upgrade your bathroom for that spa-like retreat (we all need that place of tranquility). We’re even seeing more outdoor spaces for gardens, meditation/yoga rooms, and home art studios (for all of our creators).
2023 is the year to create your space that brings you the fulfillment, privacy, and solitude you need to accomplish all those new resolutions.
Pull all these elements together and create your dream retreat. Not sure where to start? We’re always one phone call away. You can schedule a phone call with our team here.
